Chapter 4.2 Rational Numbers

Good Afternoon to all of you,
This is the second blog with the new format.  I hope that you are catching onto the format and it  becomes second hand.
I will be posting the 4.1 videos onto yesterday's blog for you to review as often as needed.
I believe that you have mastered the vocabulary for this section, Common Denominator and Least Common Denominator in lower grades, but Rational Numbers may be new.  A Rational Number is a number that ends or has a pattern.  So all whole numbers end!  All fractions end!
The types of numbers that may be IRRATIONAL are decimals... and then not all decimals are rational ( confusing huh!) We are looking at Decimals that do not end or do not have a pattern. A Rational Number is a Decimal that ends, so 3.25 is an example of this.  An Irrational Number is a Decimal that has no ending or pattern, such as 3.4521245 and so on.... you can not tell the next digit.  So if a Decimal ends or has a pattern ( as in 1.343434) it is Rational.  And if the Decimal does not end or doesn't have a pattern, it is Irrational......Do you recall the most famous Irrational of ALL?

At this point, all the work in Chapter 4.1 should be completed:
This includes: All worksheet problems done and checked in your working spiral; Reference Spiral should have a Title Page; Vocabulary Graphic for this lesson; Graphic Organizer for this lesson with every example in the book included; Essential Question must be started and completed by the middle of the chapter; and keep up the Table of Contents in both SPIRALS.

HOMEWORK: Go to Assistments and watch the videos and answer the questions:

Chapter 4.1 RATIONAL Numbers

Good Evening to you all out there,
We are trying something new so hang in there and be patient with me.........but do not stop trying as this will be easier in a short time.
The vocabulary for this section is Repeating Decimal, Terminating  Decimal, and Bar Notation.
You will be watching the videos on the assistments site!! Woot woot... bet that makes everyone happy! We are working converting  fractions to decimals and then back again!! I believe that this is a review from last year and also what has been covered in math class, but none the less, you need to do your homework.
So here we go onto a new adventure...

This is Kate and Miss Bernard at the musical, The NUTCRACKER!!! Impressive!!!!!!!

Homework:  BIG CHANGES HERE:  To watch the videos, you are now going to go into your Assistments.
In Assistments - watch the video and then answer the question it asks. You will need your TEXTBOOKS!

Chapter 3.4 Multiply Integers

Hi there, and we are moving on with multiplying INTEGERS.
And we have gone over the rules of these in the short cut videos and you also have a cheat sheet that is in your Reference Spiral.
Make sure you review these as Multiplying can be a bit tricky and does get mixed up with the DOUBLE SIGNS.
Both the DOUBLES and MULTIPLY use parentheses.
So pay careful attention.
Double Signs   Multiply
-4 - (-5)               -4(-5)
Can you spot the difference? Email answer to me.
Here's Livvy's little doggie.  What another sweetie.

OK, so I was so hesitant to open up this attachment from Gretchen.....
and I still am not convinced this is a cute pet, but Gretchen says it is!  His name is Yoshi......
