Chapter 2.3 The PERCENT Proportion

Hi Everybody,

Onward to Lesson 3, The Percent Proportion.  Does Proportions sound familiar?  It should- we are bringing over some of chapter 1 on Proportional Reasoning to this chapter. As you should recall, equivalent ratios are when 2 ratios were equal. You are taking ratio (fraction) to compare part of a number to the whole number.  Sound confusing?  Well, there is an equation for that!  Let's use this problem: 4 out of 5 is 80%
Using the equation: Part/Whole = #/%
I bet that cleared it up right!???????
On page 122 there are 3 types of equations to look at: If you want to find percent, part or whole- we will look at these in the overview video.
This lesson is tricky so pay close attention
 to the details.

Homework: Listen to the videos and take notes on the tough parts.
