Onward to Lesson 3, The Percent Proportion. Does Proportions sound familiar? It should- we are bringing over some of chapter 1 on Proportional Reasoning to this chapter. As you should recall, equivalent ratios are when 2 ratios were equal. You are taking ratio (fraction) to compare part of a number to the whole number. Sound confusing? Well, there is an equation for that! Let's use this problem: 4 out of 5 is 80%
Using the equation: Part/Whole = #/%
